Saudi King orders bringing back nationals stuck abroad

RIYADH, April 5 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz instructed the competent authorities to make the necessary arrangements for bringing back the nationals who are stranded abroad due to the current travel restrictions.
The royal instructions demonstrate the keenness of the Saudi leadership on the safety of citizens abroad from the risks of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Soon after Covid-19 outbreak, the leadership kept following up the affairs of the Saudis living overseas and making sure of their safe return, the statement noted.
The Saudi nationals willing to go home can apply for evacuation online and then the competent authorities will arrange the dates of their travel according to a set plan.
Priority will be given to citizens living in countries hard hit by the pandemic, elderly people and pregnant women, it said, adding that arrivals will have to stay in 14-day quarantine. (end) mdm.gb
