Trump: There will be "a lot of death" from coronavirus in coming weeks

WASHINGTON, April 4 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump warned Saturday that there is going to be "a lot of death" in the coming weeks amid the coronavirus outbreak across the nation.
"This will be probably the toughest week between this week and next week, and there will be a lot of death, unfortunately, but a lot less death than if this wasn't done but there will be death," Trump said during the coronavirus task force briefing.
He added "it looks like New York is going to be hit very hard," the epicenter of coronavirus with at least 113,806 confirmed cases and about 3,565 deaths. "We are working very hard to get additional things to New York as quickly as possible." "I can also report that at my direction 1,000 military personnel are deploying to New York City to assist where they are needed the most. That is the hottest of all the hot spots," Trump remarked.
Trump reiterated, "we will continue to use every power, every authority, every single resource we have got to keep our people healthy, safe, secure and to get this thing over with. We want to finish this war." He stressed "we have to get back to work. We have to open our country again, we don't want to be doing this for months and months and months. We're going to open our country again, we have to open our country again." There are at least 301,902 confirmed coronavirus cases across the US, and around 8,175 deaths, as 96 percent of people in the US are under stay at home orders. (end) si.mb
