US sees another deadliest day due to Covid-19

WASHINGTON, April 1 (KUNA) -- The deaths in the United States from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) surged by 835 to a total of 4,669 on Wednesday, hitting a new high in a single day.
This has been the deadliest day for the US since the pandemic reached the country in January, the CNN reported, citing states reports.
The total number of Covid-19 infections hit 210,271 cases so far.
Governor Gavin Newsom, of California, said at a virtual press conference that more than 8,000 people in the State have coronavirus, and 171 people have died as a result of it.
Today's count adds 1,223 more Covid-19 patients to California's tally - an increase of more than 17 percent from yesterday, Newsom said noting that the total hit 8,155 cases in the State.
Over 90 percent of Americans, or nearly 277 million people, are under stay at home orders for fear from the pandemic. (pickup previous) rsr.gb
