Italian PM rules out easing of curfew, social distancing

ROME, April 1 (KUNA) -- Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte Wednesday ruled out easing of curfew and social distancing in near future, which were enforced to stop cpread spread of coronavirus.
Conte made the announcement at a press conference after signing a decree extending the preventive measures until April 13. That does not mean that after that date, he warned, restrictions would be eased, in a hit they might be extended further.
Italy is experiencing severe circumstances with the deaths caused by coronavirus exceeding 13,000 people. "This is a very painful wound that will not heal," he said.
"If we start easing the preventive measures then our efforts will go in vain and this will cost us a high price we can't bear," said Conte.
It is the experts who will advise the the government when to ease the restrictions and then end the state of emergency, he said, then recover. (end) mn.bs
