COVID-19 patients in Austria up by 257 to 9,634 - MoH

KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- Austrian health authorities on Tuesday announced 257 additional coronavirus cases, bringing the country's total count of confirmed infections up to 9,634.
A total 52,344 COVID-19 tests were conducted for people in various areas in Austria, the Ministry of Health said in a statement, adding that 636 patients had recovered from the contagious disease.
Austria had imposed a set of strict measures involving travel bans and compulsory quarantine for 14 days on all arrivals in a bid to put the virus situation under control.
Austria is now banning the use of hotels for tourism as part of wide-ranging efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus with Easter holidays approaching. (end) mah.mt
