China records zero local coronavirus cases, 48 from abroad

KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) - China on Tuesday recorded zero local coronavirus cases, said the Health National Committee.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, the committee confirmed that 48 infections have been registered from abroad, bringing the number of infections from abroad to 771 cases.
The committee pointed out that there is one new death due to the virus in Hubei province, bringing the total to 3,305 people and confirmed infections to 81,518.
For its part, the Chinese authorities stressed the necessity of controlling cases that do not show symptoms by intensifying the process of examining the people and expanding the scope of monitoring and detection through tracking, quarantine and providing appropriate treatment.
The leading group concerned with responding to (Covid-19) headed by Premier Li Keqiang in a statement, according to Xinhua, called for improving the strategies and measures of prevention and control of the virus to restore economic and social development back to its early normal path. (end) mab.aa
