Sudan confirms 2nd coronavirus fatality

KHARTOUM, March 30 (KUNA) -- Sudanese health authorities on Monday announced the country's second death case from the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19.
This brings the total virus infections of this eastern African country up to six, including two fatalities, which all came from abroad.
The medical team, including a virologist, who checked the latest case has been immediately put under quarantine, for necessary COVID-19 tests, Sudanese Minister of Health Akram Al-Tom said on his facebook page.
On March 13, Sudanese health authorities confirmed the first fatality from the globally spreading virus. Sudan has since suspended all incoming and outgoing flights as a precautionary measure in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
Last week, Khartoum announced a state of emergency and a nationwide partial curfew, suspended schools and banned gatherings involving religious services and rallies. (end) mam.mt
