Coronavirus cases in Egypt, Tunisia surge to 609, 312 respectively

KUWAIT, March 29 (KUNA) -- The overall number of cases infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours in Egypt upped by 33 cases to 609 and in Tunisia by 34 to 312.
In a press briefing on Sunday, Spokesman of the Egyptian Health Ministry Dr. Khaled Mojahed told reporters that all the 33 people who tested positive are Egyptians who contacted infected people.
Mojahed also confirmed four new COVID-19 related deaths, taking the death toll of the killer in the most populous Arab country up to 40.
All the fatalities were Egyptian citizens from Egypt's capital Cairo and aged between 58-84 years old, he said, adding that "they reached the hospitals in a critical health condition." He pointed out that 11 more cases - all Egyptians - have fully recovered and discharged from hospitals on Sunday.
In Tunisia, the Health Ministry confirmed 34 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total up to 312.
