Saudi forces intercept, destroy ballistic missiles by Houthis - spokesman

JEDDAH, March 28 (KUNA) -- The Saudi air defense forces intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by Houthi militias against cities of Riyadh and Jazan Saturday, the Saudi-led Arab coalition supporting legitimate Yemeni government said.
The air defense forces noticed two ballistic missiles fired by Iranian-backed houthi militias in the direction of populated areas in Saudi Arabia, coalition spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Malki said in a statement.
He said the forces intercepted and destroyed the missiles, and shrapnel did not hurt anyone.
"These hostile acts implicate the houthi militias and the Iranian regime which support them of defying UN resolutions, their systematic threat of security of Saudi Arabia, and regional and international security," said Al-Malki, in addition to their breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
The coalition, he said, would continue its deterrence and destruction of the ballistic missiles of the houthis. (end) nso.bs
