British PM: things will be worse before gradual improvement

LONDON, March 28 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Saturday he would be sending 30 million letters for British citizens informing them things would get worse but would gradually improve thereafter.
Johnson, in a press release, said his message for citizens would emphasize government's determination to confront coronavirus.
As long as people follow government's instructions, he said, the loss in humans would decline and life returned to normal very quickly.
Johnson expressed gratitude for health workers and their attempts to safe lives. He also thanked doctors and nurses who came back from retirement to help existing staff.
Johnson announced last Monday almost complete ban on movement of people in a drive to contain spread of the virus, urging all shops to close with exception of food stores and pharmacies.
The number of people who died of the pandemic reach 1,019, while infections were at 17,089. (end) kd.bs
