Health officials around globe announce new coronavirus deaths, infections

KUWAIT, March 27 (KUNA) -- Health ministries around the globe on Friday kept announcing new death and infection cases due to the coronavirus.
In Iraq, the health ministry confirmed 76 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, which is the highest number of infections as the ministry described.
The ministry pointed out in a statement that the total number of the coronavirus cases reached 458, while the death toll amounted 40.
Meanwhile, the Bahraini health ministry affirmed 8 new infections and 17 recoveries, noting that the total number of the coronavirus cases jumped to 235.
The ministry added that the total number of recoveries surged to 227 after receiving the needed medical care.
In Lebanon, the health ministry said that the coronavirus death toll reached seven, when the infections climbed to 391.
In Indonesia, health authorities announced that the total number of infections surged to 1,064 and deaths to 87 cases.
It added that 153 infections and 9 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country.
During the last 24 hours, India has registered 17 new death case and 706 infections due to the virus, said the health ministry.
Islamic organizations have called on Muslims to perform prayers in their homes and to be cautious to curb the spread of the virus. (Pickup previous) aa
