KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait parliament speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said Sunday daily meetings between MPs and ministers were continuous regarding spead of coronavirus.
He was speaking to reporters after a meeting in his office attended by 15 MPs, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Services and Minister of State for National Assembly Mubarak Al-Harees.
Al-Ghanim said MPs inquired about the government's plans to bring back home Kuwaiti citizens from abroad.
The government, he said, was in the containment phase.
"Work is underway for the return of Kuwaitis as soon as possible, however this issue is pending provision of enough devices to test arrivals in order to keep the situation under control," said Al-Ghanim.
The speaker said meanwhile the government promised to announce a plan about education this year.
Asked if the government planned a curfew, Al-Ghanim said "there is no intention in this regard, but on medium and long terms this will be a preventive measures depending on development of the situation.
"The government thinks as long as the citizens and expartiates were abiding by the regulations, the chances of using this preventive measure minimizes," he said. (end) fn.ns.bs
