Saudi Arabia reports 24 more coronavirus cases, count at 86

RIYADH, March 13 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Ministry of Health on Friday announced 24 additional coronavirus cases, bringing the kingdom's total number of confirmed infections up to 86.
The first case is a Saudi citizen coming from France and the second case is a Saudi citizen arriving back from Italy, the ministry said in a press statement.
Seven patients are quarantined citizens who had close contact with previously announced virus cases, in addition to 17 Egyptians and a Bangladeshi expatriate, it elaborated.
Excluding an already treated case, all the virus patients have been quarantined and are receiving necessary medical treatment and care pursuant to specific guidelines.
The coronavirus first appeared in the central Chinese city of Wuhan late last year. The pandemic has claimed the lives of thousands of people, mostly in China, Italy, Iran and South Korea. (end) mdm.mt
