KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- The First Arabian Gulf Women Futsal Cup championship, slated to start in Kuwait on March 14, has been put off due to the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), head of the organizing committee said Sunday.
"The postponement is a precaution that aims to ensure the safety of players and the public health," board member of Kuwait Football Association Fatema Hayat told reporters this evening.
She noted that the championship could held in the fourth quarter of the year after consultations with the women committees of the football associations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Iraq. (end)
