By Mubarak Al-Hajri VIENNA, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- An ongoing Kuwaiti cultural event in the Austrian capital of Vienna reflects the concept of cultural diplomacy as the key to mutual understanding and respect, said a Kuwaiti official Friday.
The event, which included a performance by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center's Orchestra, is part of the Arab-Austrian Cultural Year and synchronizes with Kuwait's national festivals.
The festival, held under the rubric "Kuwait's Voice", together with other art activities, is chiefly meant to promote and strengthen Kuwaiti-Austrian cooperative bonds, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah told KUNA.
It also echoed the mutual willingness of both friendly countries to carry on deepening bilateral ties and propping up common understanding in various realms, he opined.
Cultural diplomacy is a gateway to fruitful cooperation purposed to fan out a noble Kuwaiti message spearheaded by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is the Humanitarian Leader, with a view to creating peace and disseminating a global culture of amity, he added.
Former Austrian President Heinz Fischer and a constellation of politicians and accredited ambassadors in Vienna as well as media representatives attended the event. (end) mah.mt
