Iraq reports sixth coronavirus case

BAGHDAD, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Iraq on Thursday reported a new confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) case, bringing the country's total number of confirmed cases up to six, according to medics.
The fresh case, the first in the capital Baghdad, is a young man who came from Turkey and then Iran, health authorities said in a statement.
He is now receiving necessary medical treatment at a public hospital in Baghdad after he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Iraq had reported its first coronavirus case of an Iranian student in Najaf City in central-south Iraq.
Iraqi authorities on Wednesday suspended classes at schools and universities and barred entry by travelers from nine countries in a bid to mitigate the impact of the new virus. (end) ahh.mt
