Saudi Arabia takes precautionary measures against Covid-19

RIYADH, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday that the Kingdom is closely monitoring developments on the spread of Coronavirus and is planning to take several precautionary measures to prevent the virus from reaching the Kingdom.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government decided to temporarily suspend entry to Saudi Arabia for all who intends to make Umrah and temporarily visit the Prophet's Mosque and suspend entry to all tourist visas that are coming from countries that witnessed high Covid-19 infection rates.
The ministry added that the government decided to suspend the use of civil IDs, whether by Saudi nationals, or GCC citizens for the national during travel, and instead to use their passports, with the exception for Saudis who are currently outside the kingdom.
The statement noted that the country's health authorities in the Kingdom closely follow developments regarding the spread of Coronavirus, stressing keenness by the Kingdom to implement the approved international standards and support efforts of countries and international organizations, especially the World Health Organization, to stop the spread of the virus.
