KUWAIT, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait diplomatic missions from New York, Abu Dhabi, Dakar, and Bern hosted on Tuesday ceremonies marking the 29th National Day and 29th Liberation Day anniversaries.
The Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi and the Consul General of the State of Kuwait to New York Hamad Al-Hazeem The ceremony attended by Kuwait mission in UN, ambassadors, and diplomats from the Arab, Islamic, and foreign nations.
The ceremony also included a number of social and culture public figures, in addition to businessmen and Kuwait's community in New York.
In a statement to KUNA and Kuwait Television, Al-Otaibi conveyed greeting on this occasion to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government and people.
The ambassador highlighted Kuwait's strong relations with the UN and the exchange of visits by high-ranking members from both sides.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Embassy in UAE hosted a similar ceremony marking the national day and liberation day anniversaries.
The ceremony was attended by UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Emirati Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, UAE Minister of Justice Sultan Al Dhaheri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment Dr. Thani Al-Zayoudi, Minister of State Dr. Maitha Al-Shamsi, and a number of Emirati officials and heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in the country.
In a statement published by UAE news agency (WAM), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed stressed importance on the strong relations and historical ties that unite UAE and Kuwait, which are growing stronger and more solid in light of the support and care of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed wishes that Kuwait continues to prosper under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
For his part, Acting Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to the Emirates, Sheikh Sabah Al-Malik Al-Sabah, conveyed congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti government and people.
In Bern, Kuwait Ambassador to Switzerland Bader Al-Tunaib said that such celebrations has become an occasion that a wide range of politicians, diplomats, economists and media in Switzerland are keen to participate in to congratulate Kuwait on this occasion.
In a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the Kuwaiti embassy's celebration of these two occasions, the representative said, "this intense presence also indicates Kuwait's standing among political and economic decision-makers in Switzerland." Al-Tunaib pointed out that exhibits, during the ceremony, displayed Kuwaiti handicrafts and examples of traditional clothes and food are admired by the well-wishers and enhance the cultural communication between the two friendly countries.
Furthermore, Kuwait's Ambassador to Senegal Saleh Al-Saqabi, hosted a reception in the Hall of the Grand Theater in the capital Dakar, which was attended by representative of the Senegalese government, Minister of Housing Abdul Karim Fofana, and a large gathering of senior guests, members of the approved diplomatic corps, and representatives of the media and local press.
Ambassador Al-Saqabi gave a speech on this occasion during which he conveyed congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah the Prime Minister and the Kuwaiti people.
Al-Saqabi said, "It is with great pride that we celebrate tonight with this occasion as it conjures up one of the most important moments of our history." He added, "It should be emphasized that Senegal is a distinguished partner of Kuwait and over the years our cooperation has witnessed an increase in various fields," The ambassador noted that such relations is based on the principles of solidarity and mutual understanding, and coordinating their positions on all issues of common concern and by unifying positions on issues raised in international forums.
