Kuwait suspends all flights to, from Singapore, Japan

KUWAIT, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Tuesday suspended all flights to and from Singapore and Japan due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
In a press statement, the DGCA said the decision was taken upon a recommendation from the Ministry of Health following the confirmation of several COVID-19 infections in the two countries.
It noted that all non-Kuwaitis who visited Singapore or Japan over the past two weeks will not be allowed to enter the country, even if they have valid visas, meanwhile Kuwaitis will be put in quarantine at special health facilities.
It added that no entry visas will be issued for those coming from these countries. The GDCA also banned transporting of transit passengers coming from the two countries. It ordered all airlines operating in Kuwait to quickly present lists of passengers their flights to the interior ministry. (end) aam.msa.ibi
