Kuwait Embassy in Jordan celebrates Nat'l Days
KUWAIT, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's embassies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Malaysia and Pakistan, and its consulate in Dubai have marked its 29th National Day and 29th Liberation Day as well as 14th anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption to the post.
On this occasion, Kuwait Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah has extolled Saudi Arabia's effective participation in Kuwait's national celebrations.
In a press statement, he sent sincere congratulations and greetings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people on the national days.
He thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their brotherly sentiments towards Kuwait's national celebrations.
The ceremony, which was held on Sunday, included some dignitaries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Governor of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz attended the ceremony, saying "it is a joy for all of us, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince." Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah hosted a reception, amid a wide local popular and official participation.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement, the ambassador said celebrating the national days reflects development achievements under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, Humanitarian Leader.
He stressed the historical deep-rooted and strong ties between Kuwait and Bahrain that are based on sincere love, brotherhood, and have the same destiny.
He pointed to the key directives of His Highness the Amir and his brother King Hamad bin Isa of Bahrain on promoting and backing all common interests in political, economic, cultural, social and development fields to serve stability, security and prosperity of the two countries and their nations.
Bahrain's Information Minister Ali Al Rumaihi lauded the brotherly relations between the two countries, pointing to His Highness the Amir's position in the hearts of GCC, Arab and Muslim nations, as a wise leader who has boosted his country regionally and internationally.
The reception was attended by Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, Speaker of the Council of Representatives Fawzia Zainal and other dignitaries.
In Amman, Kuwait Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Al-Daihani hosted a reception on this occasion.
He and the embassy's diplomatic staff welcomed the guests including Jordanian senior government officials and representatives of the civil society as well as chief diplomats from the GCC member states.
In Dubai and the northern emirates, Kuwait's Consulate General hosted a ceremony on the national days.
Consul Thiyab Al-Rasheedi said Kuwait seeks to bolster relations with the friendly and sisterly countries; a top priority is given to the UAE.
He stressed His Highness the Amir's keenness on promoting the bilateral relations, cohesion and the unity in the 'Gulf home'.
In Kuala Lumpur, the Kuwaiti embassy organized a ceremony on the county's national days.
Kuwait's Ambassador to Malaysia Dr. Hamad Bou-Rahma conveyed the greetings and congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, the Kuwaiti government and people.
On memos and deals between the two countries, the ambassador said "we follow up signing a mutual deal on political consultation, referring to preparing memoranda of understanding on diplomatic institutes.
In Islamabad, Kuwait's Ambassador Nassar Al-Mutairi said that since the independence, Kuwait has been making balanced policy aiming to achieve welfare of its people and boost cooperation with neighboring countries in the region.
He highlighted His Highness the Amir's vision on economic development through transforming the country into an international and regional hub for financing and business. (end) kt.hm.
