BRUSSELS, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Trade exchange between the European Union and Kuwait in 2019 showed an upward trend, according to latest figures released by Eurostat, the EU's statistical office.
Total trade exchanges between Kuwait and EU in 2019 were valued at EUR 9.12 billion (USD 9.87 billion) against EUR 8.92 billion (USD 9.65 billion) in 2018.
EU imports from Kuwait from January to December 2019 totaled EUR 3.19 billion (USD 3.45 billion).
EU exports to Kuwait for the same 12-month period was valued at EUR 5.93 billion (USD 6.41 billion).
From January to December 2018, EU import from Kuwait totaled EUR 3.28 billion (USD 3.55 billion), while EU exports to Kuwait totaled EUR 5.64 billion (USD 6.10 billion).
Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials are the bulk of the EU's imports from Kuwait, while machinery, transport equipment, chemicals and related products are its main export items to Kuwait. (end)
