Israeli airstrikes wound 4 Palestinains N. Gaza

GAZA, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- At least four Palestinians have been injured by Isareli air raids on the northern parts of the besieged Gaza Strip on Sunday.
The wounded were rushed to Al-Shefaa medical center, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.
The attacks, which also caused extensive material damage, constitute a new military escalation by the Israeli occupation forces and coincide with fears of renewing shelling by the Israeli artillery, Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported.
Furthermore, the Islamic Jihad movement has claimed, in a briefing statement, its responsibility for launching several missiles towards the Israeli settlements and towns adjacent to the Strip.
It said that the move came in retaliation for the assassination of Mohhamd Al-Na'm.
The Israeli army announced earlier that its defensive system" the Iron Dome, intercepted ten missiles fired from the Strip. Since the early hours of the day, the Strip has been witnessing tension in the wake of the 'martydom' of a Palestinian man. (end) wab.sad.hm
