UAE reports two new coronavirus cases

DUBAI, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The UAE Ministry of Health on Saturday reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID19), including a 70-year-old Iranian visitor and his 64-year-old wife.
The Iranian visitor's health is unstable and he is in the intensive care unit, the ministry said in a statement carried by the UAE's official news agency (WAM).
The latest two cases bring the Gulf country's total number of coronaviruse cases up to 13, it said, adding that three cases have already recovered.
The ministry said it is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure highly efficient preventive measures, including check-ups and observation of those in contact with patients.
Chinese health authorities said on Saturday that some 109 new coronavirus death cases with 397 cases newly recorded across 31 regions.
The death tally went up to 2,348, while infections rose to 76,392, including 366 in Hubei province, the epicenter of the disease, according to the authorities. (end) smr.mt
