Iran reports COVID-19 death toll hits 5

TEHRAN, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Iranian health authorities announced Saturday that the confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases went up to 28, with five people dead.
Iran's official news agency (IRNA) quoted ministry spokesperson Kianush Jahanpur as saying that medical tests were carried out on 785 suspected cases of the virus; 10 of whom have been confirmed cases, totaling the number up to 28 people infected.
He urged residents not to travel to cities where the virus appeared, especially Iran's Qom city and to comply with the health and safety guidelines.
On Thursday, Iran reported first two deaths in Qom city, southern Tehran, after five confirmed cases were recorded. (end) mu.lr
