UAE health authorities confirm new coronavirus case

DUBAI, Feb 16 (KUNA) - The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Sunday announced a case of infection with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing to nine the total number in the country.
The latest case involves a 37-year-old Chinese man who tested positive during a routine check-up conducted as per the World Health Organisation (WHO) standards.
His health condition is now stable, according to a Ministry statement carried by Emirates News Agency (WAM).
This brings to nine the total number of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in the UAE, including the two patients who recovered were recently cleared.
The remaining six patients are still under intensive care and observation by a team of leading consultants.
The Ministry urged the public to follow the preventive procedures and to read the awareness instructions, available on its website and the official websites of health authorities in the UAE. (end) smr.maa.gb
