Kuwait customs installs radioactive detection devices

KUWAIT, Feb 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait General Administration of Customs declared on Sunday that it had equipped its border checkpoints and affiliate facilities with high technology to detect radioactive and nuclear materials.
Custom personnel are also trained on mastering the state of art technologies with aim of rendering them fully qualified to operate these devices, said the department in a press release on Sunday.
The department issued the release, marking a visit to the country by a delegation of the national security department of the US Department of Energy.
The American delegation's visit is aimed at swapping information and delivering radiation detection devices, according to a cooperation agreement in the sector. (end) skm.rk
