Coalition holds Houthis responsible for safety of Tornado crew

JEDDAH, Feb 16 (KUNA) -- The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen late Saturday held the Houthi militia responsible for the safety of the Tornado fighter jet crew, based on international humanitarian law.
"The air crew, consisting of two officers, used ejector seats to escape the plane before it crashed, at the same time the terrorist Houthi militia opened fire using a variety of weapons at the air crew, which is a violation of the customary International Humanitarian Law, as such, the lives and wellbeing of the air crew is the responsibility of the terrorist Houthi militia," Saudi Press Agency quoted the coalition's Official Spokesman Col. Turki Al-Malki as saying.
The coalition earlier announced launching search and rescue operations at the crash site. The plane, which belongs to the Royal Saudi Air Force, fell at the Yemeni National Army's support and operations area in Al-Jawf Governorate. (end) nsa.ag
