Qatar Amir names new prime minister

DOHA, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has issued a decree naming Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa as prime minister succeeding Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser.
Sheikh Khalid has been appointed prime minister and interior minister as per the decree, according to Qatar's official news agency.
The new prime minister took the oath of office before the Amir amid a ceremony held today.
The new cabinet makeup involves Khaled Al-Attiyah as deputy prime minister and minister of state for defense, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani as deputy prime minister and foreign minister and Ali Al-Imadi as minister of finance.
It also includes Saad Al-Kaabi as minister of state for energy affairs, according to the news agency. (end) nnd.mt
