China urges citizens to delay trips over virus fears

BEIJING, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Chinese authorities urged its citizens on Tuesday to postpone trips abroad as a viral outbreak, corona, has spread all over the country.
The recommendation to delay non-essential travel was issued "in order to protect the health and safety of Chinese and foreign people", the National Immigration Administration said in a statement.
The Administration added that those who need to travel abroad for special reasons must check the current entry requirements to the destination countries in addition to arrive early to ensure adequate time for medical examinations.
The exit and entry department in central China's Hubei province has suspended services for ordinary passports applications and exit-entry permits and endorsements to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. (end) mab.gaa
