KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is one of the most prominent leaders who exerted great efforts to achieve peace around the world and provide nations with a decent living, a senior official said.
Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, made the remarks in a press statement on Tuesday, on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the ascendency of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad on 29 January, 2006.
His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad has so many regional and international achievements that will always be remembered, said Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad.
He added that His Highness the Amir played a big role in resolving key international issues, due to his wisdom and neutrality.
His Highness the Amir had a strong national and international political presence since the mid 1950s, defending Kuwait and its people in global arenas.
His Highness the Amir also exerted great humanitarian efforts to aid people in need everywhere. His efforts were deeply appreciated by the UN, who granted His Highness the "Humanitarian Leader" title, and labelled Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center," said Sheikh Mihsal.
Meanwhile, the deputy National Guard Chief noted that the unity and wellbeing of Kuwaiti people is His Highness the Amir's top priority.
His Highness the Amir also aims to turn Kuwait into a regional financial and commercial center, as part of the New Kuwait Vision 2035, he said. (end) ss.ag
