WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest American basketball players of all times, has been killed Sunday, along with four others, in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
LA County Sheriffs tweeted "five people confirmed deceased, no survivors in Calabasas helicopter crash."
It added that an investigation is "ongoing," asking people to "avoid the area until further notice."
According to the Los Angeles Times, Bryant was killed "when the helicopter he was traveling in crashed and burst into flames Sunday morning amid foggy conditions in the hills above Calabasas."
Bryant, 41, has spent 20 years of his the career playing for the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 2016. He won five championships and was an 18-time all-star. (end)
