PARIS, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- Four members of a French NGO working in Iraq have been missing for several days and are considered unaccounted for, French media reported Friday.
The four, three of them French nationals and one Iraqi, have not made contact since last Monday when they disappeared near the French embassy in Baghdad, "France 24" TV indicated.
There have been no official comments on the reports about the missing, who worked for "SOS Christians of the Orient" NGO.
France is very cautious about commenting on any suspected kidnapping or even confirmed disappearances of its nationals and will never comment on negotiations with potential kidnappers.
France also denies ever paying ransoms to groups that have lifted nationals, but press sources here regularly question those denials, some claiming Paris uses intermediaries for such negotiations but this has never been confirmed, officially. (end)
