1962 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signs a decree to appoint Abdullatif Saad Al-Shamlan as the first Secretary General of the Cabinet.
1962 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Salem appoints Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Foreign Minister in addition to his post as Deputy Prime Minister.
2003 -- Asian Olympic Council's General Assembly, meeting in Kuwait, renews mandate of Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Sabah as Chairman for four years.
2006 -- Kuwait National Assembly named, in an extraordinary session, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as Kuwait's 15th ruler to succeed Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, whose authorities were transferred to the Council of Ministers due to his health condition.
2008 -- The National Assembly bans all privately-owned companies from dealing with private houses, while forcing companies to sell lands and housing units in three years.
