Kuwait Defense Minister discusses bilateral ties with Iraqi counterpart

KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah discussed Monday bilateral ties with the visiting Iraqi Defense Minister Najah Al-Shammari.
In a statement to the Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations following the meeting, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour stressed the importance of these meetings for the benefit of both sides.
The meeting also tackled issues that contribute to bringing views and unifying efforts of the political leadership in the two countries, the statement said.
It also touched on issues of common concern in addition to ways to enhance cooperation and work.
Kuwait's Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Khaled Al-Khoder, Kuwait Army Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah, a number of senior army officials and Iraqi Charge D'affaires in the country Mohammad Al-Husseini also attended the meeting. (end) ysa.sam
