Tunisia says will not attend Libya talks in Berlin

TUNIS, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Tunisia said on Saturday it would not be attending an international conference on the Libyan crisis, scheduled to be held in Berlin a day later, saying the invitation to attend the event was sent late.
The decision stems from Tunisia's keenness on assuming an "effective role" on the matter alongside several nations, particularly in ongoing preparatory talks since September it was not part of, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Since the start of the crisis, Tunisia said it has remained committed to the principle of non-intervention in Libya's affairs.
However, instability and the huge numbers of people displaced as a result of the crisis worries the neighbouring country. (end) ksj.nma.sd
