Arab League strongly condemns military academy attack in Tripoli

CAIRO, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- The Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Abu Al-Ghiet strongly condemned on Monday attacking a military college in Al-Hadaba region in southern Tripoli last Saturday, causing many casualties.
"Attacking residential, civilian and medical locations as well as the infrastructural sites is totally rejected and condemned," the Secretariat General of the Arab League said in a statement on Monday.
"It is a pity that such incidents would affect any real chances to get back on the proper political track," it added.
The statement called on all the Libyan parties to allow the national interest to predominate and to start halting the ongoing escalation and back to negotiations".
The statement renewed the Arab Leagues' support and total solidarity with Libya and its people in all of the efforts working to end the current circumstances and achieve security and stability to Libya. It expressed condolences to the military academy victims' families, wishing the injured quick recovery. (end) mfm.rg.lb
