NSA, NATO plan to bolster cooperation

KUWAIT, Dec 15 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait's National Security Apparatus (NSA) Sheikh Thamer Al-Sabah held talks on Sunday with the Commandant of the NATO Defense College General Chris Whitecross, focusing on plans to increase bilateral cooperation.
The talks also covered other matters, such as bilateral ties and current happenings around the world, according to a statement by the Apparatus.
The meeting comes some 15 years after the launch of NATO's Istanbul Cooperation Initiative of 2004, a drive on the part of the Alliance to establish closer links with the Middle East and North Africa. (end) ays.kah.nam
