WASHINGTON, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has reaffirmed US support for Ethiopia’s "political and economic reforms." Pompeo made the remark during a meeting with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew late Wednesday.
Pompeo and his Ethiopian counterpart discussed " Ethiopia’s important role in ensuring peace and security in sub-Saharan Africa and in achieving durable solutions to regional issues," State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.
Ethiopia has taken a leading role in promoting economic integration, peace and stability in East Africa, whilst implementing an ambitious national reform agenda. (end) si.mt
