KUWAIT, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has a successful leading experience in the development field in Africa Continent, a Kuwaiti diplomat said on Sunday.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs Ambassador Ali Al-Said made the statement to reporters on the sidelines of attending the Africa Day ceremony organized by the African union.
"Kuwait has enough experience in managing development activities in Africa, in addition to its consultations in several other activities," he said.
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has a pioneering expertise in Africa that mirrors the leadership's interest in maintaining good relations with the Black Continent, he noted.
Wonderful representation of the African embassies in Kuwait embodies their countries' keenness on developing historical ties with Kuwait, he pointed out.
He lauded the humanitarian role by Abdulrahman Al-Semain who founded Direct Aid Society with the aim of carrying out several development and humanitarian activities in many areas.
Meanwhile, Egypt's Ambassador to Kuwait Tareq Al-Qoni said Egypt chairing the African Union in this session was keen to take part in the ceremony, which focused on investment and touristic opportunities in the African countries Also, Senegal Ambassador to Kuwait Ambassador Abdul-Ahad Ambaki extolled His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's stances for peace, and social and economic development.
