Saudi King invites Bahraini peer for GCC summit

MANAMA, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Wednesday received a written message from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud inviting him to the 40th GCC Summit to be hosted by Riyadh next week.
The Bahraini King received the invitation from GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
King Hamad extended thanks to King Salman for this kind invitation, wishing the summit success to consolidate the GCC march and deepen common cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the GCC peoples.
He commended the wisdom of King Salman as well as his dedicated efforts to promote the GCC common march, pointing to his pivotal role in bolstering regional security, stability and peace, as well as protecting the interests of countries and peoples, and advocating their causes.
King Hamad also extolled the dedicated efforts by the GCC Secretary General to consolidate coordination and complementary ties, and follow-up the implementation of resolutions. (end) hmd.hm
