WASHINGTON, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump spoke Friday with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during which they discussed "critical" bilateral and regional issues.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere said in a statement that Trump expressed "deep appreciation for Qatarآ’s assistance" in the release of American hostage Kevin King and Australian hostage Timothy Weeks.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier this week that Taliban have indicated that the release of the two professors is intended as a "goodwill gesture" that the US welcomes. (end)
