MoCI: Kuwaiti non-oil exports went up 11 pct. in October

KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti non-oil exports went up by 11 percent last October, compared to the same month last year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said Thursday.
Exports to Arab and foreign countries amounted to KD 16.9 million (about USD 55 million) last October, compared to KD 15.2 million (approximately USD 50 million) in the same month from last year, MoCI said.
Kuwaiti exports to Arab countries, excluding the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), amounted to KD 6.3 million (roughly USD 20.7 million), compared to KD 2.7 million (almost USD 8.8 million) to foreign countries, the ministry added. Kuwaiti exports to GCC reached KD 7.8 million (about USD 25.6 million) last October.
The ministry pointed out that Iraq topped the list of Kuwaiti exports, followed by Jordan, Algeria, Lebanon, Yemen, Egypt and Tunisia, while UAE ranked first in the Gulf, followed by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.
Regarding the Kuwaiti exports to other countries of the world, it reported that Belgium came in the forefront, followed by Italy, Turkey, France, Spain and Portugal. (end) km.lr
