Quoting an official from the test range, Press Trust of India said the "two Prithvi-2 missiles were test-fired consecutively and both tests met all parameters." The test-fire of the surface-to-surface missiles, with a strike range of 350 km., was conducted from a mobile launcher of the ITR Launch Complex-III at 7:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. (local time).
The official said that Army's Strategic Force Command carried out the launch after the missiles were randomly chosen from the production stock and scientists of Defence Research and Development Organisation of India, which is responsible for defence production monitored the exercise.
