Jordanian PM praises economic bilateral ties with Kuwait

AMMAN, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razaz on Monday praised the bilateral ties with Kuwait in all fields, noting that the Kuwaiti business sector is an important partner in boosting Jordan's economy.
This came during a speech delivered by the Jordanian prime minister in a meeting with a Kuwaiti industrial and commercial delegation headed by Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Al-Daihani.
Al-Razaz said that the relationship between Jordan and Kuwait is historic and witnessing a great development in all fields, hailing these kinds of bilateral meetings.
He also praised the Kuwaiti investments, which are the largest of an Arab country in the Jordanian economy, stressing the importance of building on them to achieve common goals.
Al-Razaz pointed out that the Jordanian economy has recently achieved a qualitative leap on the indicators of the business environment, indicating his government's keenness to attract more foreign investments.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador stressed the keenness of the leaderships in the two countries to boost the bilateral relationship, noting that the agreements between Kuwait and Jordan reached 73 in various fields.
Ambassador Al-Daihani pointed out that the volume of Kuwaiti investments in the Jordanian economy reached about USD 18 billion.
Kuwait's Director of the Public Authority for Industry Abdulkareem Taqi noted that the Kuwaiti public and private business sectors targeted the Jordanian market and the development of trade and investment exchange in a way that enhances the Jordanian and Kuwaiti economy.
He pointed out that he found great interest in the Kuwaiti product in Jordan and this bodes well for a promising future of economic relations between the two countries.
For his part, Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries Nasser Al-Sharhan stressed the keenness to develop the economic relations with Jordan.
He noted that the visiting delegation to Jordan seeks to learn about industrial investment opportunities and develop direct working relations with Jordanian businessmen. The Kuwaiti delegation includes representatives from Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Industries Federation and a number of public and private sector companies. (end) mjb.aa
