Islamic Development Bank commends Kuwait's humanitarian record

KUWAIT, Nov 17 (KUNA) -- President of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Bandar Al-Hajjar commended Sunday Kuwait's humanitarian's efforts, and philanthropic initiatives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Al-Hajjar paid tribute to Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) which was contributing to capacity building, coordination and partnerships with international and UN organizations in humanitarian affairs.
He was speaking to KUNA following a meeting with Maha Al-Barjas, Secretary General of KRCS.
He said they discussed cooperation and coordination in relief assistance, and that he got a first hand account of KRCS's operations.
Al-Barjas said KRCS was looking forward to boosting partnership with IDB with the objective of improving humanitarian aid.
She said KRCS was very active in Yemen, Iraq, Somalia and Syria, as well as having qualified staff to deal with emergencies.
Al-Barjas said KRCS was committed to helping those in need. (end) zh.bs
