Russia agrees with Turkey to extract Kurdish fighters from north Syria

MOSCOW, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Russia agreed with Turkey on Tuesday to operate patrol units in Syria's northeast that will remove Kurdish fighters to behind 30km from Turkey's borders, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.
The operation, agreed after talks between presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey in Sochi, will commence at 1200 noon and end in 150 hours.
It will be carried out by a joint task force of Russian military police and Syrian border guards, ensuring Turkey's desired safe zone. (end) as.sd
