Lebanese Forces Party quit coalition gov't

BEIRUT, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- President of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea announced Saturday the resignation of representatives of his party from the ruling coalition amid the ongoing anti-government protests.
"We have demanded our ministers to tender their resignations after we realized that this government is unable to save the country from this crisis," he said Geagea made the press remarks after a meeting by the party's ministers and MPs.
The Lebanese Forces was the first coalition partner who voted against the 2019 state budget because it failed to reflect the desired economic reforms, he added.
The party is represented in the government by deputy prime minister Ghassan Hasbani, Minister of Labor Camille Abu Suleiman, Minister State for Administrative Reform May Chidiac and Minister of Social Affairs Richard Kuyumian. (pickup previous) ayb.gb
