Today in Kuwait's history

KUWAIT, Oct 14 (KUNA)--

1900 -- A French ship visits Kuwait and its captain met Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the son of the Amir Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah. The captain took photos considered the first of Kuwait.
1967 -- Amiri law issued on supporting Arab countries' resources, of which were directly affected by Israeli aggression.
1968 -- Military college established.
1969 -- Police Academy receives first group of cadets.
1972 -- Kuwait Blind Association Society for the Blind established.
1993 -- Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi dies at the age of 72. He was a prominent teacher at Al-Noor Institute for the Blind. He had a diploma from Cairo in teaching the blind, although he was blind himself. He contributed to establishing Kuwait Blind Association and was its chairman for a long time.
2013 -- Mohammad Al-Khatib, a pioneer of the educational and theater movement in Kuwait, passes away at age of 92. (end) hb
