Kuwait hosts forum for youth from GCC, Jordan, Morocco

KUWAIT, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- A "scientific forum on arts and media" kicked off in Kuwait on Sunday to examine prospects for youth creativity in these sectors.
In his keynote speech at the opening session, Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri indicated that that seminars and workshops, held within the forum framework, would shed light on successful experience of the youth in the sectors of information and arts.
He lauded His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's sponsorship of the activity, which depicts concern of the political leadership for boosting youngsters' potentials.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Public Authority for Youth Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said the forum constitutes a platform where representatives of this segment of the society exchange views on the national movie industry, the drama and the digital media.
For his part, Walid Al-Farhan, the director of the youth department at GCC Secretariat General, indicated at significance of the gathering to cement bonds among junior citizens from the GCC countries, Jordan and Morocco.
Saeed Al-Nabhani, the head of the Omani delegation, told KUNA on the sidelines that he was proud of participating in the event in Kuwait, which has always occupied a pioneering status at the media and artistic levels.
The forum, grouping young activists from the GCC states, Jordan and Morocco, tackles for four days a host of issues such as media ethics and influence of the digital media on the youngsters. (end) fsa.rk
