TUNIS, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) has taken part in talks on ways to improve air transport in Arab states, and challenges facing Arab airlines, a senior executive said Friday.
Talks also focused on Arab airlines relationship with international civil aviation organizations, and discussed agendas for the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) General Assembly meeting, slated for November 4 in Kuwait, KAC Board Chairman Youssef Al-Jasem told KUNA.
Al-Jasem made his remarks on the sidelines of heading Kuwait Airways' delegation at the 85th session of AACO's executive committee meetings in Tunis.
He stressed the importance of elevating the level of competitiveness in Arab air-carrier companies in light of current challenges facing the air transport industry worldwide.
The AACO's forthcoming meeting coincides with Kuwait Airways' 65th anniversary, he said, adding, "We will hold a grand celebration for this occasion at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre on honor of Arab airlines' delegations." Established in 1965 by recommendation of Arab League, AACO's headquarters is currently in Beirut, Lebanon and includes membership of 32 air carriers from 18 Arab countries, including Kuwait Airways.
